2012-10-01 03:16 UTC G3 (Strong) Geomagnetic Storming
Earth remains under the influence of the coronal mass ejection (CME) associated with the filament eruption near end-of-day September 27th. A single period of geomagnetic storming reaching the G3 (Strong) level has been observed, and continued storming is possible through October 1st. Although this storm got off to a slow start, stronger magnetic structure ultimately came, leading to storm levels slightly higher than initially predicted. Stay tuned for updates.

UPDATE: A moderately-strong (kp=6) geomagnetic storm is in progress during the early hours of Oct. 1st. This is the result of a CME impact on Sept. 30th.
Tempesta geomagnetica in corso G3 (forte)
Il nostro pianeta resta sotto l’influenza dell’esplosione di massa coronale (CME) associata all’eruzione di un gogantesco filamento solare, avvenuta alla fine della giornata del 27 Settembre scorso. Il recente rilascio di massa coronale ha impattato la Terra in queste ore generando una tempesta geomagnetica G3 (forte) ancora in corso, ora scesa a livello G2 (moderata).
AGGIORNAMENTO: La tempesta solare che interessa la Terra in queste ore, di forte/moderata intensità, è il risultato del secondo impatto di un CME avvenuto nella giornata di ieri, 30 Settembre.
