La visione delle possibili aurore è però compromessa dalla ormai vicinissima Luna piena e dal sole di mezzanotte intorno al Circolo Polare Artico. I tecnici del NOAA prevedono una possibilità pari al 40% che si verifichi in data odierna una tempesta solare geomagnetica, con le conseguenti aurore.

Reports of high-latitude auroras are few, however, because of the nearly full Moon and midnight sun around the Arctic Circle. NOAA forecasters estimate a 40% chance of polar geomagnetic storms on June 22nd.
