Una nuova, spettacolare immagine della regione di formazione stellare nota come Nebulosa della Carena è stata ottenuta con il telescopio VST (VLT Survey Telescope) all’Osservatorio del Paranal dell’ESO, e pubblicata oggi in occasione dell’inaugurazione del telescopio a Napoli. Questa immagine è stata ripresa con l’aiuto di Sebastián Piñera, Presidente del Cile, durante la sua visita all’Osservatorio il 5 giugno 2012.

A spectacular new image of the star-forming Carina Nebula has been captured by the VLT Survey Telescope at ESO’s Paranal Observatory and released on the occasion of the inauguration of the telescope in Naples today. This picture was taken with the help of Sebastián Piñera, President of Chile, during his visit to the observatory on 5 June 2012.
